What we collect, and why.

1. Who we are

This site is AMPMforHealth.com, operated by HALC, LLC, located at 50 Jones Slough Rd., Kingston, GA 30145. Throughout this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean that entity. “You” means anyone visiting the site.

This policy covers AMPMforHealth.com. Our other sites and the companies whose products we recommend have their own policies, and this one doesn’t govern them.

2. What we collect

Things you give us on purpose

• Your email address, when you subscribe to the AM/PM Letter, download a guide, or request a free chapter.
• Your name, email, and message, when you use the contact form or write to us directly.
• Order and billing information, when you buy a book or guide from us. Payment is processed by our checkout and payment providers — we never see or store your full card number. We can see that an order happened, what it was for, and the name and email attached to it.
• Anything else you choose to tell us in a message, a survey, or a comment.

Things collected automatically

Like nearly every website, ours records some technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you looked at, how long you stayed, and the site or search that sent you here. This is standard analytics data. We use it in aggregate to understand which articles are useful, not to build a profile of you individually.

What we never collect

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, medical records, lab results, diagnoses, prescription information, Social Security numbers, or government ID numbers. See section 8.

3. How we use it

• To send you the emails you asked for — articles, guides, and occasional notes about our work.
• To answer your questions when you write to us.
• To deliver and support anything you bought.
• To understand which content helps people, so we write more of what’s useful and less of what isn’t.
• To keep the site working, secure, and free of abuse.
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade our email list. We have not done this and we don’t intend to.

4. Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers who make the site run, and only to the extent they need it to do their job. These currently include our website and hosting platform, our email marketing platform, our checkout and payment processors, and our analytics provider. Each is bound to use your information only to provide their service to us.

Beyond that, we may disclose information if the law requires it, if we need to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or if our business is ever transferred to another owner — in which case this policy would follow your information.

5. Cookies and tracking

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We use them for three things: keeping the site functioning as you move between pages, understanding site usage in aggregate, and crediting affiliate referrals (see section 6).

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can set most browsers to warn you before accepting one. Blocking cookies may break parts of the site, but you are welcome to do it. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or “Do Not Track” signal, we honor it where the law requires us to.

6. Affiliate links

Many product links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one, the destination company may place a cookie in your browser so they can credit us if you buy. That company — not us — handles the resulting transaction and the data that comes with it, under their own privacy policy. We receive a commission report showing that a sale occurred; we do not receive your payment details.

7. Email and how to stop it

If you subscribe, we’ll send you articles and occasional notes about what we’re working on. Some of those emails contain affiliate links, disclosed as such.

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you’re out — no confirmation loop, no “are you sure.” You can also write to [email protected] and we’ll remove you. If you bought something from us, we may still send you the receipt and delivery emails for that order.

Our emails may record whether a message was opened and whether links were clicked. We use that to tell whether the writing is landing, not to track you elsewhere on the internet.

9. How long we keep things

We keep your email address for as long as you’re subscribed, and for a short period afterward so we don’t accidentally re-add you. Order records are kept as long as our tax and accounting obligations require. Contact-form messages are kept while the conversation is useful and then cleared. Analytics data is retained in aggregate.

10. Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that’s wrong.
• Delete your information.
• Stop sending you email.

Write to [email protected] with what you’d like. We’ll verify it’s really you, then handle it — normally within 30 days. We won’t treat you differently for asking.

11. California residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, used, and disclosed; to request deletion; to request correction; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA. To make a request, use the email address above. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

12. UK and EU residents

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we process your personal data on these legal bases: your consent, where you signed up for email; performance of a contract, where you bought something; and our legitimate interests in running and improving the site.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to object to processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. You also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. Note that our service providers are primarily located in the United States, so your data will be transferred there.

13. Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

14. Security

We use reputable, established platforms for our site, email, and payments, and those platforms encrypt data in transit. That said, no method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, and we can’t promise absolute security. Please keep that in mind about anything you send us.

15. Other sites we link to

We link out constantly — to studies, to companies, to other people’s writing. Once you leave this site, you’re under someone else’s privacy policy, and we have no control over how they handle your information. It’s worth reading theirs.

16. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of the page. If the change is significant, we’ll say so by email or with a notice on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
